A few weeks ago i was approached by Christie Murray to shoot the lookbookand campaign of her label Christie Millinery.

She turned out to be such nice person on top of being oh so talented! It turned out we have a scientific past in common and share quite a few traits. She has also introduced me to another great person and stylist Lucy from The Haute Monster.

The shoot was a great success and we all have walked away with great memories and great new friendships as well

Here is a small outtake from the shoot

A couple of weeks ago i had the pleasure to shoot the Murie twins (Meg and Alise) for their agency comp card.

Although at first glance they look identical, their personality is so different that is pretty easy to pick them apart once you spend little time with them.

Can you?

When i first saw her i immediately thought she was a bit of a Kate Moss look-a-like, don’t you think?

Either way the future is bright for this new face!

As many of you now know, Brisbane local girl Georgina Burke has experienced a great deal of coverage lately as the first-ever face of the giant US retailer Torrid. Torrid has over 236 stores world wide and specialised in full-figured sizes 12-28 only (photos of her campaign here below)

This deal was signed in Sept last year but kept a secret till the campaign could be released. Since the announcement, the news has been covered by blogs, newspapers and television world-wide.

A little over 2 years ago she made the big move from Brisbane to London, then moved to NY where she is now based and has since travelled the world (central america, south africa and europe) to shoot editorials, strut on the catwalks of major international fashion weeks (was part of one of the first plus-size runway shows at Milan Fashion week) and shot big names ad campaigns (Saks, H&M  and Macys to just name a few)

Since i first met Geo 5 years ago it was clear she was special and I’m thrilled to see she has since fully embraced her fuller figure and found the success she has always deserved. The confidence in her look definitely contributes in making her one of the hottest and most seeked-after plus-size models in the world. And this I’m sure is just the beginning!

Here are some of my photos from Georgina’s first shoots for her Sydney Mother agency Bella Model Management, taken in what was my newly built studio almost 4 years ago.

We are all so proud of local girl Kia Low for once again being cast and walk in another international fashion festival.

After London in september last year, Kia is now strutting the catwalk of NYFW and debuted this year series of shows for Houghton Fall 2014 (below pictured backstage – courtesy of Getty Images and on the runway

She has come a long way since one of her very test shoot i shot couple of years ago (pictured below). I still clearly remember her striking features and thinking how wonderfully editorial and particular her look was and I’m so happy for her for having such a solid international recognition.

We all wish Kia the best of luck for the remainder of the fashion festival season and looking forward having back home and working with her again in the future

Earlier in October i was asked to be a judge as well as sponsor a prize for the Gold Coast Swimsearch 2013 edition, sponsored by Dallys, Chic, the Marriott, Sunseeker and several other prominent names.

I was thrilled as it was the first time i was asked to judge a modelling competition of high caliber. I was one of the 4 judges for the photographic section of the comp. I was the only fashion photographer invited which made me really proud.

The competition was divided into 3 judging sections. An interview  directed by ChicManagement director Ursula Hufnagl, a catwalk section and a photography section

We had to photograph (and rank) 18 beautiful models around the pool section of the GC Marriott Spa and Resort in Surfers Paradise. Each girl had about 5 min with each photographer at each section. As i wanted to challenge the girls with poses both outside and in the water, i asked to be the last of the four stops.

It was a pretty full-on morning. The girls, during my portion of the shoot had to pose sitting own, standing up, in the water for both full length and close-up photos, all in 5 min with little direction. The criteria for judging were :

1. How good they were in taking directions

2. Ability to pose naturally

3. Level of comfort and personality during the shoot

I particularly liked the fact that we were not asked to judge their shape or form in a bikini.

Sapphire (photo below) was named the winner, which will take part in a fully styled shoot with me and my team early in 2014 (keep an eye on the blog for photos)

Enjoy!

The last RAW test in november was with Antonia. It was really good to bump into her while getting coffee in Graceville as we haven’t seen each others in a couple of years. Turns out she was looking to get new compcards done so perfect occasion to get together and shoot.

Here some of the photos

Antonia has such a natural beauty and doesnt have to do much to look beautiful. Simple looks, stunning face, we were both pretty happy with the results!

This week I had courtney over for her test. She has been away from modelling for a couple of years while building a family. She now has 2 beautiful kids and wants to get back into modeling.

I was pleased to see she hasnt lost her talent and was very happy with the results!

We were taking some digis for his Tokyo agency and i ended up snapping a few extra photos, nothing planned, just some candid shots behind my studio

Since the studio was redone after the 2011 flood, i havent been happy with the way the floor was done, so i decided to take advantage of having builders on site renovating the ground floor of the house and finally upgrade the uneven floor with a joint-free smooth and even finish.
The studio will be close this week to allow the work to be carried out but i was told it should be back up and running by next monday

There will be new, more resistant cyclorama walls (still the grey and the white) built into the new floor to achieve a seamless transition between wall and floor.

Im looking forward to update as soon as the next step is complete
